Free Workshop Helps Local Businesses Go Green
On November 29, 2011 The City of Annapolis is holding two Environmental
Steward Certification Workshops in City Council Chambers, 160 Duke of
Gloucester St., one at 10am and one at 2pm.
This free program gives recognition to the businesses through promotion by the City of Annapolis' Sustainable Annapolis website and social networks, Annapolis & Anne Arundel County Conference & Visitors Bureau's website, and through press releases by the City. The workbook itself involves many suggestions and internet links to assist businesses that are interested in becoming more sustainable. For example, businesses could save money by following certain initiatives due to energy and water conservation.
There are many facets to this program as we have received input from all Department of Neighborhood and Environmental Program staffers to create the workbooks. For more information on the Annapolis Environmental Steward Certification program, please visit www.SustainableAnnapolis.com or contact Jeanna Beard, Environmental Program Coordinator, at (410) 263-7946.
